CalPhotos photographer and reviewer profile for Sean Barry:
| I live near Sacramento and have worked as a consulting and academic herpetologist since the early 1970's. I also teach courses on herpetology and conservation biology at UC Davis Extension, and I have traveled extensively in North America, and to Europe, Asia, and New Zealand. Most of my amphibian and reptile photographs are obtained during ecological surveys and species-specific investigations. Unless noted, none of the reptiles and amphibians that I photograph are in any way posed, manipulated, or held captive for the photograph. My goals are to show distinctive field marks for each species and simultaneously to illustrate some aspect of the animal's behavior or natural history. | Affiliation: University of California, Davis | Special interests/expertise: California amphibians and reptiles and their habitats, natural history, and conservation biology | Total Photos Contributed: 429 [View all photos] or [See a list of all photos] or [View most recent photos] |
