| I have a BS in biology & earned an MS in ecology, evolution, & conservation with a thesis on the behavioral responses to drought by Mohave Rattlesnakes. I lived in the Mohave Desert & studied the fauna there most of my life and have traveled extensively on four continents studying & photographing wildlife. My long-term radiotelemetry study of wild Mohave Rattlesnakes was the first to document the natural history & ecology of this highly-toxic species. I’ve authored or co-authored many papers for peer-reviewed scientific & medical journals, as well as non-technical publications. I am co-editor of The Biology of Rattlesnakes, a 600-page peer-reviewed compilation of research by 90 authors. I have taught the envenomation portion of two southern California paramedic programs & have been granted multiple scientific collecting permits for rattlesnake studies by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife, as well as venomous reptile permits by the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission. | Affiliation: CSU Sacramento, Biological Sciences Dept. | Special interests/expertise: Crotalus sp.
