Chris Evelyn lives in Ventura California and is currently an Assistant Researcher and Vertebrate Curatorial Manager at UC Santa Barbara. Chris earned his PhD from UCSB studying the ecology and evolution of slender salamanders (Plethodontidae: Batrachoseps) before a postdoctoral fellowship with Sean Rovito to study montane salamanders in Oaxaca. Chris is a self-trained photographer who tries to improve mostly by gleaning tips from Bob Hansen. Born and raised in southern Calif Chris has spent time living on Santa Catalina Island, the north coast of Oregon, and in central Idaho. |
