Masters degree in Biogeography; schooling included classes in plant taxonomy and systematics. 12 years with Los Angeles County Parks managing wildlife sanctuaries; worked with TNC doing habitat restoration (riparian) then with TNC's Global Invasive Species Team focusing on invasive plants; worked for Missouri Botanical Garden on an urban wildlands program; was the chair on the Sustainable Sites Initiative vegetatio committee to develop "LEED" like credits for sustainable landscapes (also on the steering committee). Spend much time botanizing in Mojave desert and chaparral. In my current position I manage and restore coastal wetlands (salt marsh habitats).
