Vance is a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. His research focuses broadly on the ecology, evolution and conservation of amphibians. The current focus is on questions that incorporate: 1) ecology of emerging infectious disease; 2) introduced species effects on aquatic-terrestrial food web linkages; 3)phylogeography, including genetics, morphology, and mating behavior; and, 4) ecology and conservation of populations in fragmented landscapes.
