I am trained as an environmental engineer and toxicologist. I have been an enthusiastic amateur naturalist since age 5. I started as a birder, and have branched out into botany and entomology. I now have a good working knowledge of much of the flora and fauna of the Piedmont region of North Carolina. I have contributed photos to the University of Michigan Animal Diversity web, see: http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/resources/patrick_coin/index.html and bugguide.net, see: http://www.bugguide.net/bgimage/user/15
