|Janell is a botanist at the Santa Clara Valley Water District in San Jose, CA. She conducts rare plant surveys, vegetation mapping, wetland assessments and delineations, CEQA review, monitoring and mitigation design and assessments, among other things. She is past president of the Santa Cruz Chapter of the California Native Plant Society. In 2007 she completed a Master's degree in Biology from SFSU, focusing on serpentine seeps and Mt. Hamilton thistle in Santa Clara County.|
