Born in 1963, Jürgen Völkel (University of Wuppertal, Germany) received a diploma in the social sciences from Wuppertal University in 1998 (focus on long-term unemployment). He`s been working as a trainer and consultant for various academies for further education. His herpetological interests focus on the captive breeding of Eurasian ratsnakes and rear fanged snakes. He lives in Wuppertal, Germany. Memberships: The Ratsnake Foundation (based in England), German Herpetological Society (DGHT). His other great passion besides keeping snakes is making music with a focus on using "found" sample material as a main source of sound.
