| Glenn Vargas lives in Thermal, California. He and his wife Martha traveled widely including the Galapagos and the Amazon. They wintered in Baja California, Mexico and so were intimate with the flora, fauna and mineralogy of the area. Glenn was a teacher for 50 years at a Palm Springs high school, at the College of the Desert in Palm Springs and at the University of Texas, Austin. He taught gem cutting and published a book on the subject.
