Retired in 2010 after 45 years at the University of Texas at El Paso mostly with major administrative responsibilities but most recently serving as Director and Botanical Curator of the Chihuahuan Desert Gardens of the Centennial Museum at the University of Texas at El Paso, El Paso, Texas. BA degree in Geological Sciences and Art. Self guided botanical training under Dr. Richard Worthington (UTEP) and mentored by Dr. Richard Spellenberg (NMSU). Numerous published credits as both plant photographer and horticultural writer. Currently editing and disbursing a 25 year collection of over 40,000 plant photographs from across the USA, Canada, Central and South America but specializing in the southwestern USA and northern Mexico but specializing in the flora of the Chihuahuan Desert region and the Sierra Madre Occidental of western Chihuahua, as well as pursuing interests in botanical illustration and horticultural writing. |
