Barry Rice grew up in the midwest. He received his B.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona. He worked with The Nature Conservancy's Wildland Invasive Species Program 1997-2008. He is now a professor at Sierra College, Rocklin, where he teaches astronomy and astrobiology. He photographs for pleasure and stock photography, mostly plants (portraiture or in the macro-regime), and has specializations in carnivorous plants, invasive plants, and the cactaceae.
Special interests: Invasive species, carnivorous plants, cactaceae, astronomy.
