Delia Basanta is an Argentinian biologist. Her topics of interest are ecology, conservation and amphibian diseases. Her work has focused on the study of ecology and conservation of amphibians, with especial interest in emerging infectious diseases. She is currently carrying out her PhD thesis at Parra Lab in Mexico focusing on amphibian diseases, especially chytridiomycosis. This work includes studies of genetic variability of chytrid Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis in Mexico and its distribution in suitable areas.
