Dr. Dougherty maintains an extensive private image collection, which emphasizes the natural history and ecology of the subjects depicted. His work and personal travels have taken him to many "biological hotspots" around the globe. His images include botanical and habitat photos from these locations, as well as cultural images where applicable. His interest in tropical ecology has led to the creation of many images illustrating a broad selection of flowering tropical plants, including many species of orchids and bromeliads. Dr. Dougherty also has a sizable collection of medicinal plant images, and other medically-oriented photographs. Dr. Dougherty is currently a surgical resident at the UCSF East Bay program.
