| | Daniel Geiger received his first degree from University of Basel, Switzerland, and his Ph.D. from University of Southern California, Los Angeles, where he held an appointment as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. He is Curator Emeritus of Malacology the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. His research interest is in the evolution of marine snails (abalone, keyhole limpets, ...) and systematics of the orchid genus Oberonia. His images have appeared among other places in Nature, Smithsonian Institution, Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History, US National Aquarium, and have been used in textbooks. He used to be represented by the stock photo agency alamy, but is now making all images available to educators/non-profit for free. For commercial uses, please inquire.
