notes Dicentra have six stamens whose (somewhat wide) filaments are more or less fused in two sets of three and clasp the ovary beneath the two outer petals (which are pouched at the base). In D. nevadensis, the base of the middle filament of each of these sets has an abrupt 'C' shaped bend which bulges out from the other two filament bases, which remain flat against the ovary.camera Shot on a Canon Digital Rebel XT at f11, 1/200, ISO 100 using a Canon 50mm macro lens.
