location
Del Puerto Canyon (Stanislaus County, California, US)family
Campanulaceae
notes Habit of Campanula sharsmithiae, growing on a serpentine scree slope. Note the sessile, toothed, and lanceolate upper cauline leaves and bracts. If I'm correctly interpreting these characters in Jepson Campanula key, this distinguishes C. sharsmithiae from C. exigua...the latter having more or less linear upper leaves/bracts. This interpretation seems compatible with the Jepson Herbarium online type specimen images of C. sharsmithiae and C. exigua...but I'm not absolutely certain here. (I'm hoping Nancy Morin might be able to review my images here and correct or confirm.) photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
