  • plant community   on flat estuarial plain in loamy, acidic, volcanic soils in a wet, humid, Patagonian maritime rainforest on loamy, acidic, volcanic soils, at -45.45658,-72.7453 elv. 85 feet (26 meters)
  • notes   Plants are native to southern Chile and adjacent Argentina. Photo taken on a large, flat estuarial delta with a humid, wet, mostly shaded, Valdirian temperate rainforest above the northern shore of Lake Riesco, in a small (618 acres), private but well managed, park-like preserve of coastal rainforest flora, with maintained trails through the rainforest to substantial waterfall, Cascada Barba de Viejo, and a large covered shoreline viewing pavilion and restaurant.
