  • plant community   wet, humid, Patagonian maritime rainforest on the Estero El Salto, on volcanic soils of a flat estuarial plain at the north end of Lago Riesco. -45.45658,-72.74534 elv.85' (26m) at Visitor Center.
  • notes   Plant noted as a climber, using hair-like roots to affix and ascend rough or mossy trunks of woody neighbors; Photos taken in a small, private but well managed, park-like preserve of coastal rainforest flora, with a spectacular roaring waterfall, on the large flat estuary above the northern shore of Lake Riesco. Native to temperate regions of southern Chile and Argentina.
