  • notes   A pair of Great Frigatebirds resting in an Ironwood tree. They have a greater ratio of wing area to body mass, and the lowest wing loading, than any other bird. Note the red gular sac on the male, distended during breeding season. The female is larger than the male, an example of sexual dimorphism.
