plant community Open understory of burned (2020 CZU Lightning-Complex Fire) live oak/tanoak/redwood forestnotes A population of ca. 1000+ plants was recently discovered in the CZU Lightning Complex Fire burn by Dean Lyons on iNaturalist. As it is not known from this area (it was only previously known from Humboldt and Mendocino counties), he did not identify it to species. Ken Hickman alerted me to Lyon's observation, and said it may be Astragalus agnicidus, so I immediately photographed it and collected voucher specimens, and shared them with Aaron Liston at OSU, and he confirmed Hickman's initial identification, adding that it was a 'significant find.'photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
