plant community Damp shaded woods, often near streamsnotes Endemic to Oregon. Image shows fruiting capsule. Pedicels were flaccid and found laying in the forest duff. Most pedicels were missing the fruiting capsule, perhaps taken by ants as these are known to have myrmecochorous seed dispersal. Flowers were in bloom in early March, 6-7 weeks before this image.camera Nikon D80, Nikkor Micro 60mm 1:2.8
