location
Cantua Creek, southwestern Fresno County. (Fresno County, California, US)notes Light, vertic clay derived from marine shale. Co-occurring with other strict vertic clay endemics including Deinandra halliana and Phacelia ciliata. In 2021, this population cluster numbered 50,000+ individuals. Some individuals were being impacted by Cuscuta (visible in photos). Cattle grazing occurs on these lands, but is not a negative impact to the species. The dispersed soil disturbance from trampling (hoof prints) is within the much larger natural background disturbance from the clay shrink-swell cycles.photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
