| Reviewer's comments: | | | "This is a red-sided garter snake--the red lateral blotches are characteristic of that form and are absent from Thamnophis radix. The lateral stripe is also higher in T. radix, 3rd and 4th scale rows anteriorally (2nd and 3rd scale rows in T. sirtalis, as it is in this specimen." |
