location
Humboldt National Forest, Shell Creek Range at Connors Pass, elev. 2407 m (7900 ft.) (White Pine County, Nevada, US)notes My son, Cole (9-years) found this lizard while walking around camp. He spotted a strange-looking, gray rock, and with closer look thought it was a mouse, then shouted 'horny toad!' once realizing what actually was found. A thrilling find, considering this is the lizard we hoped to see. Although we looked more, no other Salt Lake Valley Short-horned Lizard (Phrynosoma hernandesi ornatum) were seen.photo category: Animal - Reptile
