    A beautiful plant, growing with it 'feet' in saturated lake-edge sod. In the 1993 edition of the Jepson Manual (and for many decades prior) this went by the name Potentilla palustris, though its dark-red petals contrast sharply with the typically yellow (or white) petal color of most other CA Potentilla (and Drymocallis). It's now back under the name Linnaeus gave for this circumboreal species.
