notes Basal leaf rosette for this (barely!) ''known but undescribed'' species of Nemacladus. A small (and unusually low-lying?) nascent inflorescence branch appears to be emanating from the axil of the highest basal leaf at lower right. This plant's main central stem can be seen 'towering' off at the upper left of the image. Two much larger inflorescence axes fork from the top of that central stem, as can seen in the view of this plant visible on the left of the 1st image of this series. Growing in rocky alluvium atop the southernmost bank of the wash just south of the parking area at the junction of Waucoba (or 'Death Valley') Road and Harkless Flat Road, at an elevation of ~6500' in the Inyo Mountains east of Big Pine, CA. Postscript (4/25/20): This is now recognized as a new species, N. inyoensis, per the treatment in: Nancy R. Morin and Tina J.
