notes This 'downward view' was taken looking at the flower 'from behind'...so unfortunately it displays the flower 'upside-down' (i.e. with the 3-lobed 'lower lip' on top, and the 2-lobed 'upper lip' on the bottom!). I could have rotated the image before posting it, but sometimes the composition of an image looks too unnatural when that's done. The same situation holds in Martin's photos here and here. Postscript (4/25/20): This is now recognized as a new species, N. inyoensis, per the treatment in: Nancy R. Morin and Tina J.
