date of photo May 19, 2019
location
Cushenbury Canyon area (San Bernardino County, California, US)family
Campanulaceae
notes Growing in silty, limestone scree within a few inches of a small individual of Nemacladus californicus visible at lower right...in the middle of the population of the latter species seen in these CalPhotos posts. I also found a single individual of N. orientalis within a few feet of here, with a single withering flower that retained enough of its form for me to be fairly confident of its ID...i.e. corolla not inverted (3 lobes ''up'', 2 ''down''), lobes relatively long & narrow, cleft to base, white with red tips; staminal tube deflexed to nearly ''horizontal'' between lower two corolla lobes, etc.. photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
