Soča river valley between villages Srpenica and Trnovo; northeast slope of Mt Kobariški Stol ridge, East Julian Alps (Posočje, Slovenia)notes Slo.: navadna mokarica - syn.: Paxillopsis prunulus (Scop.) J.E. Lange, Pleuropus prunulus (Scop.) Murrill - Habitat: a small clearing in mixed wood with Fagus Sylvatica and Picea abies dominant trees; Picea abies the closest tree; grassy and mossy place, almost flat terrain; mostly in shade; exposed to direct rain; average precipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 8-10 deg C, elevation 650 m (2.150 feet), alpine phytogeographical region. - Substratum: soil. - Comments: Clitopilus prunulus is a common mushroom in Bovec region. Three quite young pilei found. Hut diameter up to 7 cm; gills strongly decurrent; smell and taste strong mushroomy and mealy; SP pink. - Spores smooth. Longitudinal ridged barely visible with my equipment. Dimensions: (8.7) 9.1 - 10.4 (11.1) × (5.3) 5.4 - 6.3 (6.7) µm; Q = (1.5) 1.6 - 1.8 (1.9); N = 30; Me = 9.8 × 5.8 µm; Qe = 1.7.
