  • plant community   Chihuahuan Desert gypsum scrub at 3869' (1179m)
  • notes   erect, suffrutescent perennial gypsophilic endemic on road cut in bedded evaporites of the Castile Formation. Linear leaves, strongly condupliate (folded), square (4 angled) buds prominent, flowers open by mid-morning. New species (2014), previously placed under O. berlandieri. Also often cursorily mistaken for O. hartwegii v. filifiolia.
