Long Ridge Open Space, Santa Cruz Mountains (San Mateo County, California, US)notes A single flower and some leaves. Note the tiny bracteoles about half-way up the pedicel. Note also the ''downwardly-hooked tip'' of the style...a diagnostic character mentioned in the 3rd paragraph of this 1946 note in the journal Madroño, written by Violet Baird (to view this character clearly, look at the center of flower in the full-size image...and don't forget to 'click' the image in your web browser after it loads!).
