  • plant community   Chihuahuan Desert scrub at 4422' (1348m)
  • notes   in calcareous soil and gravel along edge of arroyo drainage at base of low limestone hillside. A widely used culinary in Mexico and Central America, with a flavor similar to Mediterranean Oregano (Origanum vulgare) a mint family member.
