  • notes   Herbaceous plant, trailing, prostrate stems and beautiful bizarre flowers on silty calcareous soils of relatively flat grassy plain. 5 petal-like sepals enclose 5 small, modified petals; 3 'uppers' reduced to greenish-yellow, red margined, fan-like projections & 2 'lowers' reduced to short, thickened, darker red, cup-like ridges
