plant community Chihuahuan Desert scrub transition into foothill grassland at 4764' (1452m)notes perennial plants on grassy roadside in gravelly volcanic rhyolite soils on wide outwash plain. Some regard this as a variety of T. megapotamicum with the major difference being the presence yellow to reddish rays florets while T. megapotamicum has only yellow disk florets.keywords: CDR, Chihuahuan Desert, Big Bend
