  • plant community   Chihuahuan Desert scrub around saline-gypsophilic playa riparian representation at 2528' (770m)
  • notes   Sub-shrubby perennial with glabrous, cylindrical succulent leaves on silty saline-gyp soil in small shallow ponding area draining adjacent desert shrub flats. Some now place this plant in synonymy under S. moquinii.
