plant community 5460’, calcareous soil band at summit of desert peak, yucca-juniper scrubnotes Astragalus newberryi var. castoreus. The general terrain was metagranitic and this milk-vetch only grew on patches of calcareous soils. Locally growing w/ Pinus monophylla, Juniperus osteosperma, Yucca brevifolia, Y. baccata, Purshia tridentata, Ephedra viridis, Coleogyne, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Salvia dorrii, Cylindropuntia acanthocarpa, Opuntia phaeacantha, Coryphantha chlorantha, Stanleya pinnata, Penstemon eatoni, Astragalus lentiginosus var. fremontii, Amauriopsis dissecta, Bouteloua gracilis, Lepidium montanum, Hymenoxys acaulis, Gilia transmontana, Cryptantha gracilis and Bromus rubens.camera Olympus SP500UZ
