plant community 5250’-5500’, rocky limestone upper slopes and ridgelines, Shadscale scrubnotes Biennial plant with early fruits in typical habitat on ridgetop. There were no annual forms in this season. This taxon is distinct from var. mohavensis. Pls on Darwin Mesa differ from those of the same variety in NV, being more-stout & hairy and have thicker, more-curved pods. Growing w/ Yucca brevifolia, Atriplex confertifolia, Menodora spinescens, Lepidium fremontii, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Echinocactus polycephalus, Opuntia basilaris, Stipa speciosa, Astragalus newberryi, Oenothera caespitosa, Camissonia walkeri & pterosperma, Phacelia crenulata, Mimulus suksdorfii, Arabis inyoensis, Dasyochloa pulchellum, Cryptantha virginensis & circumcissakeywords: Darwin Mesa milk-vetch
