plant's place of origin
Outdoors, northern California (California, US)family
Liliaceae
plant community carnivorous plant bogs, primarily southeastern USnotes Until now, L. catesbaei has rarely been seen in cultivation. Lily growers have struggled with it because they've always grown it like a lily, but the secret is to grow it like a carnivorous plant. It's a great companion plant for Sarracenia, except the soil should be kept moist at all times, but never waterlogged. Seeds require no treatment to sprout, just keep them warm and don't bury them. They bloom around 3-4 years from planting.photo category: Plant - annual/perennial
