notes A plant in pre-flowering phase. Note the elongate, bicolored leaves (glaucous blue-purple to green to bronzy-yellowed above; deep-red below), with revolute margins that are pinnately lobed with orange gland-like teeth. The lower leaves are petiolate; while the upper leaves are beginning to show a sessile, auriculate-clasping base...which becomes more pronounced in the highest leaves of older plants. Note also that the leaf trichomes have pustulate bases (see high resolution image for more detail).
