  • notes   tjm2 description of the leaf sheaths:' sheath front often cross-wrinkled, red-dotted, mouth generally U-shaped, often thick-rimmed, widely dark or coppery; ligule length > 2 × width.' On Google earth you can see the raised hummocks which populations of these plants create. This image is primarily meant to illustrate the leaf sheath thickened rim and coppery color. Both of these features may or may not show up strongly.
