plant community tropical deciduious small tree forest at 5250' (1600m)notes plants on steep slope of accumulated volcanic rhyolitic tuff rubble in mid to lower canyon. Swollen thorns often house foraging ants that are known to attack other trespassing insects or creatures that may graze or otherwise disturb the plant. An effort to move all but Australian Acacias to Vachellia has not yet been widely accepted by many authoritieskeywords: SMOc, Barranca Batopilas
