    The leaves of this plant are indeed 'Asarum-like', as suggested by the specific epithet.

    Seen in a moist, shaded, riparian woodland habitat, in a canyon at the western base of the Glass Mountains. Thanks to Mike Honer for showing me the wonderful locale here.
