The plant with small, densely packed deep-green leaves and pink-lavender flowers filling most the frame is Trifolium wigginsii. The smaller plant with long, pale green leaves and yellow flowers at lower left is Potentilla luteosericea.
The Trifolium here has a number of freshly-flowering heads, as well as withering brownish heads and a healthy-looking growth of green foliage. It's the 'happiest' looking individual I saw on this trip, which took place in an unusually tough drought year with generally very poor flowering. It looked in better shape than the onther plant I posted, which was growing 1000' higher near the crest of the range.
For detailed info on the species here, see remarks under the 1st image of this series.
