plant community river riparian with Salix, Platanus, transition to open cultivated fields at roadside banked fence line, in sandy loam at 1555 mnotes unusual population with distinctive 3 lobed corollas of 2 small 'bow tie'-like lobes at either side of tube throat below the normal elongate (to 6 cm) staph-like lobe of the species, Further study needed to determine possible varietal status.
