notes specimen originally labeled as Aloe x schonlandii Baker. LOS ANGELES COUNTY: San Gabriel Mountains; Pasadena, along Angeles National Forest Road 2N69.1 0.3 road miles East of the Angeles Crest Highway; T2N R13W NE1/4 Section 36 (SBB&M); Pacifico Mountain, CA 7.5’ USGS quadrangle; alt. 1860 ft; edge of dirt road in mixed chaparral on granitic substratum; doubtless established this site from discarded garden waste originating in nearby residential areas N.B. subsequent was prepared from live plants collected in the field at the given date/time, grown in cultivation in Aptos, CA; and pressed on 2 May 2014. Sap expressed from the base of the inflorescence is exceedingly yellow, hence these probably represent A. saponaria (Aiton) Haworthphoto category: Plant - annual/perennial
