notes Male. This duck is a domesticated breed of Mallard. This breed was developed in Europe and was exported to the United States in the 19th century. It generally has been replaced on farms by other domestic fowl, but the Black Swedish is still sought by some as a legacy breed. A small population had become establised in the wild, often interbreeding with native mallards.camera Canon EOS 7D, 700mm, f/8.0, 1/2000 sec.
