INFORMATION PROVIDED WITH THE PHOTO
  • date of photo  Apr 1, 2013
  • location   Arroyo Del Puerto (Stanislaus County, California, US)
  • family Liliaceae
  • notes   Another recently opened flower. It appears that one anther has dihisced, but the other anthers have not even begun to dehisce. The stigma is not visibly protruding yet.

Almost all the plants I observed had just one flower or bud, only a few had two. I don't know whether this was result of seeing the plants early in their flowering period; or of climatic factors of the particular year and/or locale; or of the particular population. Other posts show individual plants with 3 or more flowers and/or buds.
