| Reviewer's comments: | | | "This is not C. nana for numerous reasons. The long galea alone rules out C. nana. It is an unusually yellowish specimen of C. piersonii (bracts reddish with a bright yellow corolla, more typically. N.B.: I do not follow Chuang & Heckards's reduction of this to a synonym of C. parviflora. My research indicates unequivocally that C. piersonii is a good species, probably evolved as a southern isolate from the northern C. parviflora complex. " |
