  • notes   Slo.: kolobarniška koprenka, belobetni različek - Habitat: In old Picea abies forest, near forest edge, moderately south inclined mountain slope, locally almost flat terrain, calcareous ground, relatively humid and warm place, in shade, partly protected from direct rain, average recipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 2 - 4 deg C, elevation 1.330 m (4.350 feet), alpine phytogeographical region. - Substratum: soil, among roots and fallen rotten braches. - Comments: Growing in large groups in lines and arches, several tens of fruitbodies, pileus diameter up to 10(13) cm, slightly sticky when wet or on old fruitbodies, otherwise dry; stipe up to 8(9) cm high; taste and smell mild, mushroomy; SP rusty red brown (oac687). Traits fits well to Ref.:(2). Since it completely lacked violet/blue tint it seems to be C.g.var. acyaneus. The name is legitimate according to the MycoBank, listed in Slovenian checklist of fungi, but only listed in the Index Fungorum. KOH test hasn’t been done. - Spores minutely finely warty, warts not seen in spore profile but on surface when seen slightly out of focus (my scope?). Dimensions: 8.4 (SD = 0.6) x 4.8 (SD = 0.3) μ, Q = 1.76 (SD = 0.12), n = 30. Olympus CH20, NEA 100x/1.25, magnification 1.000 x, oil, in water.
