  • notes   The narrow passages at the bottom of this slot canyon are hundreds of feet deep and only several yards wide. In places, it's possible to touch both walls at the same time. These slot canyons were carved into a thick section of Paleozoic limestone during a period of rapid uplift in the last few million years.
